Janette Hargin

Biography

Janette is mostly known from her success with the Swedish National Alpine Skiteam, but she has also made some impressive results in competitions outside the slopes. The biggest focus this year for Janette has been the World Cup in Åre and defending her first place in 2006 in Riksgränsen at the Nordic Championship in backcountry freeriding. She managed to do some good results during the World Cup but unfortunately did she crash in the Nordic Championship and as a result of this she never reached the final runs.

During the summers when Janette is not in the gym working out to get in the best possible shape, she is probably laying around somewhere in the world, in the water, on her surfboard, waiting to catch the perfect wave. She always enters a room with a big smile on her face and is known to be very honest, straight forward and fair person.

So far Janette has managed to become a 6 times Swedish champion in alpine skiing, 2 times Swedish champion in big mountain extreme skiing, 2 times Scandinavian champion in big mountain extreme skiing, 6 times top ten in Alpine World cup, 3 times top three in Alpine European cup and 15 times winner in a Alpine FIS-race.

Janette grew up with her family who all loved skiing, her three brothers and one sister has also raced on an international level. In august -94 she raced her first international fis-race in Coronet Peak on New Zealand, representing Sweden. In -96 she won her first international fis race in Trondheim, Norway. The first World Cup race for Janette was in Sölden, Austria in -98, and the best result in a WC race ever for her was in Åre, Sweden -02 where she finished second in the combined!
